The River Writers began several years ago as a U3A (University of the Third Age) group interested in an introduction to creative writing. It now numbers a baker’s dozen of talented, enthusiastic people working in a number of different genres. These include memoir, history, topical articles microlit and poetry. Now the River Writers is an independent self-staining writers group with more publications to the credit of members.
The River Writers meet each week to present and critique their writing – an invaluable process. These discussions are lively and enhanced/fed by tea, coffee and far too much cake!
Eavesdropping, an anthology by The River Writers is available from the Gloucester Book Shop. Proceeds of sale go to the Books in Homes.
